We were super excited to finally see Miss Lauriana Mae perform her first headline show at SOB’s last thursday night. We were still unsure of what to expect from the new comer. I always believed that if a new artist can put on a great live performance it will prove if  they’ll be a contender in the game. WOW this recently signee to Atlantic Records, is one of 2012′s artists to watch! Lauriana was dressed in full vintage 1920s flapper gear and her energy was high that night. She has a star performers attitude, and a sexy swag that is truly memorizing.

Miss Mae performed records off her latest EP ‘Love Mae’ to a full house which included “Love,” “Money Mae,” and ” Like A Drum (Beat it).”  Lauriana’s music is in a lane of it’s own. Inspired by the likes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James, singer/songwriter, Mae blends soulful jazz vocals with contemporary pop, R&B and hip-hop all in one.  With her backing band “The Pains,” comprised of a band of friends that stood by her along the way.

Before Lauriana graced the stage. Two other great singers opened the show, R&B brotha Ronny “RO” James raved the crowd with his very own cover of Radiohead‘s “Creep” and finished his set with an original joint titled “Be Better.”  Lance Drummonds was up after and play the piano and performed a few of his original tunes mixed with some classic covers.

Def Jam singer/songwriter Luke James is blowing up before his debut album is due to release sometime next year! Check out his LIVE performance on That Grape Juice “The Splash” session. Luke performed his lead single “I Want You,”  ”All Of The Night” (Kelly Rowland Cover) + “Hurt Me.”  Be on the look out for him this coming new year, true raw talent!

Up and coming artist  J Rome, opened for Miguel to a packed house last night in Philadelphia at ‘The Theatre of The Living Arts.’ The Maryland native wowed the crowd with a smooth acapella version of Beyoncé’s hit “1+1″ then had the crowd moving to his debut single “Beauty Is Beautiful.” We had the chance to sit down with J Rome before his performance.  He told us about his biggest musical influences, what his idea of “success” is, and what his growing fan base can expect from him in the future, as well as blessing us with a spotless rendition of Joe’s classic “All The Things Your Man Won’t Do.” Check a few pics from his performance, and his video interview below… You can also find J Rome on twitter.com/officialjrome and his official site, www.officialjrome.com

NBC’s ‘The Voice’ winner and University of Hartford alumnus Javier Colon ‘00, will perform two shows at Lincoln Theater on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m as part of Hawktober weekend. The talented University alumna Latanya Farrell will open both shows. Javier’s new album due to release November 22nd. On Wednesday Melanie Fiona and Jagged Edge rocked the night away with NYC fans in the rain at SummerStage held at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. Before they both performed incredible sets. Chris Walker opened the show performing songs from his latest album ‘Zone’ along with R&B crooners Force M.D.‘s who got the crown warmed up with their classic hits like “Tears”, ”Tender Love” & “Love Is A House.” Melanie is a true performer and a can deliver a great live show. She performed her grammy nominated hit “It Kills Me” along with “Gone (And Never Coming Back)”, “Somebody Come Get Me”, “Ayo” and her new single “4AM.” Check out some footage and pix of the show.

Wale showed his love to a sold out Philly crown at The Theatre Of The Living Arts last night. This is his 3rd time joining Heineken’s Red Star tour. The beautiful Rosa Acosta was on deck as the hostess for the night. while DJ D-Nice kept the house bumpin’. Wale performed fan favorites like “600 Benz”, “90210″  as well as his new joint “Bad Girls Club” featuring J. Cole. Wale seemed to be in great spirits during our interview before the show. He spoke about his new album and what fans can expect from him. Heineken Red Star Roc Nation Tour kicked off yesterday here in NYC at the Bowery Ballroom with headliner  J. Cole. He performed of “All I Want Is You”, “Blow Up”, “Who Dat”, “Grown Simba.”  Wale will headline in Philly 8/11 and for the remainder of the shows.  Melanie Fiona who will join at the last 3 shows. I just sat down to watch Maxwell‘s performance on ‘VH1′s Storyteller’ that premiere over the weekend. Man is Maxwell DA MAN!!  He is another underrated artists that knows how to work the crowd with his great personality and amazing music.
